Northearts exists to help people find real relationships built on honesty and respect. These guidelines are how we protect that, for you and for everyone you meet here.
Be who you really are
- Your photos must be real, recent photos of you. No stock images, no photos of other people and no filters that meaningfully change how you look.
- Be honest about your age, your community and what you are looking for. Misrepresenting these can genuinely hurt someone who trusted you.
- You must be 18 or older. No exceptions.
Verify honestly
- Complete verification truthfully. It exists so people know the person they matched with is real. Trying to fake or get around it damages that trust for everyone.
- Never use someone else's photo, an old photo or an edited photo to pass verification.
If you are joining from outside the Northeast
You are welcome here if you genuinely want to connect with the community, and that welcome comes with responsibility.
- Show real interest in someone's culture, not curiosity about a novelty. A person's tribe, language and traditions are part of who they are, not a talking point to win a match.
- Never reduce anyone to a stereotype about "Northeastern" people, or assume things about their looks, food or customs because of where they are from.
- Fetishising or exoticising an entire community is not welcome here.
Respect every community and every faith
- Northearts brings together people from every state, tribe and community in the Northeast, and beyond. Treat every community the way you would want yours treated.
- Faith-based matching is a personal choice. Never mock, question or pressure anyone about their faith, or their lack of one.
- Comments that demean someone's tribe, ethnicity, state or community are not allowed, even as a "joke".
Talk with honesty and kindness
- Speak to matches the way you would want to be spoken to. Disagreeing is fine. Insults, cruelty and harassment are not.
- If someone is not interested, let the conversation end gracefully. Continuing to contact someone who has clearly stepped away is harassment.
- Never pressure anyone for photos, personal information or a meeting they have not agreed to.
Zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation
Northearts has an absolute zero-tolerance policy against child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) and child sexual abuse material (CSAM) of any kind.
- Northearts is for adults 18 and over only. Any account found to belong to, or be run by, someone under 18 is removed immediately.
- Grooming, exploitation, treating someone as though they might be a minor, signs that a minor is using the app, or any content or message that puts children at risk leads to immediate removal and a report to the appropriate authorities, including India's child protection bodies and the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) where applicable.
- If we become aware of CSAM, we remove it immediately and take further action as the law requires.
- We follow global best practice for fighting online child sexual abuse and exploitation, including the standards set by the Tech Coalition.
Report it right away using Report on any profile, or contact our Child Safety point of contact at support@northearts.com. Child safety reports are handled with the highest urgency.
No harassment, hate or predatory behaviour
- We do not tolerate hate speech, threats, sexual harassment or targeting anyone for their community, faith, gender or identity.
- Predatory, coercive or manipulative behaviour of any kind means immediate and permanent removal.
No scams, no selling
- Never ask a match for money, gifts, investments or financial information, and be careful with anyone who asks you.
- Northearts is not for promoting a business, selling products or soliciting anything other than genuine dating and relationships.
Urgency, guilt-tripping, pushing to move off the app quickly and stories that do not add up. If it feels off, report it and trust that instinct.
Respect privacy, yours and everyone else's
- Never share someone's photos, messages or personal information outside the app without their consent.
- Do not screenshot private conversations to post publicly or use against someone.
- What someone tells you about their community, faith or personal life is theirs to share, not yours to repeat.
Keep content appropriate
- No nudity or sexually explicit photos on your profile. In chat, only when both people have clearly and enthusiastically agreed to that kind of conversation.
- No violent, graphic or disturbing content anywhere on your profile or in messages.
Report and block without hesitation
- If someone makes you uncomfortable, breaks these guidelines or simply is not someone you want to hear from, block them. You never owe anyone an explanation.
- A real person reviews every report, not just an algorithm. Reporting helps keep the whole community safe.
- False reports made in bad faith, to harass or get back at someone, are themselves a violation.
If these guidelines are broken
Depending on how serious it is and whether it has happened before, we may issue a warning, suspend an account or remove it permanently. Severe violations, including predatory behaviour towards minors, threats, harassment and scams, lead to immediate permanent removal without warning.
Northearts was built on a simple belief: finding someone who understands where you come from, your community, your language and your faith if it matters to you, makes real love easier to find. That only works if everyone shows up honestly and treats each other with respect. Thank you for being part of it. For help, questions or to report something, go to Safety Centre in the app.
