As Northearts grows, adds features and as India's Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act comes fully into force, we will keep this page accurate to what we actually do. The date above always changes with an update, and for meaningful changes we will let you know inside the app, not just here.
Who we are
Northearts is operated by LP Concrete Solutions, a sole proprietorship registered in India. This page explains what the app collects, why we need it, and the choices you have.
What we collect
Things you tell us
- Your phone number, used to create and verify your account
- Name, date of birth and gender
- Where you are from (the Northeast or elsewhere), your home state and your community or tribe
- What you are looking for, such as something serious, casual, marriage or faith-based
- If you choose faith-based matching: your religion, how observant you are, your place of worship and how much faith should shape your matches
- Your photos, bio and profile prompts, and an optional voice prompt
- Optional details: occupation, education, height, languages, drinking and smoking habits, communication style and love style
- Your interests, and the messages you send to matches
Things we collect to keep people safe
- Get Verified. If you verify, the app runs a liveness check on your device: you blink and turn your head on camera so we know a real person is there. It does not compare your face with your profile photos. The two frames captured during the check and the result are stored so decisions can be reviewed, and each attempt is logged to enforce an attempt limit.
- Reports you make, reports made about you, and any details or evidence attached to them
- Records of who you have blocked and who has blocked you
Things collected automatically
- Your approximate or precise location, only with your permission, to show people nearby and calculate distance
- When you were last active, to show an "active now" style status
- Basic device and technical details needed for push notifications and security
- Usage data the app needs to work, such as which profiles you have already seen and your swipe history
Payments
Plus, Gold, Super Likes and Boosts are paid through Google Play Billing, or Apple's equivalent on iOS. We never see or store your card details. We only receive confirmation of what you bought and whether a subscription is active.
Photo processing
Every photo you upload gets a light automatic adjustment (contrast and sharpening) on our own servers before it is stored. This does not involve any third-party AI service.
Service providers behind specific features
A few features rely on outside providers. Here is exactly what goes to each one.
Rizz: AI reply suggestions
- Your match's name and part of their bio
- Up to 8 of their interests and up to 3 of their prompts
- The last 10 messages of your conversation, including your own
- Your own bio, interests and prompts
- Faith or religion details
- Photos, phone numbers or precise location
Profile suggestions during sign-up
If you ask for help writing your About Me or a prompt, the details you have entered so far (community, faith if you shared it, intent, interests and a few similar fields) go to Groq to draft suggestions. You review, edit or discard every suggestion. Nothing is added to your profile automatically.
Crash reporting
Firebase Crashlytics records technical details when the app crashes: device model, OS version, app version and the error itself. This is not linked to your account.
Address search
When you search for an address, for example when creating an event, your search text and approximate location may be sent to Photon, a search service run by Komoot GmbH, and map tiles may load from OpenStreetMap.
How we use your information
- Create and secure your account
- Show your profile to others and show you potential matches based on your preferences and filters
- Work out compatibility and distance between you and other members
- Let matched members message each other
- Confirm a live person completed verification
- Offer AI suggestions for your profile and conversations, only when you use those features
- Improve the quality of the photos you upload
- Run Events (creating, joining and showing attendance to other attendees) and Blind Date (anonymous matching and, if you both choose, revealing profiles)
- Investigate reports and enforce our Community Guidelines, including suspending or banning accounts
- Send notifications about matches, messages and your account, which you control in Settings
- Maintain and improve the app, and meet our legal obligations
Who can see your information
- Other members see the parts of your profile you have made visible. That can include your name, age, photos, bio, prompts and interests, and, depending on your settings, your gender, intent, community and faith.
- If someone has liked you but you have not matched, members without Gold see only limited details about them, such as age and approximate distance. Once you match, you both see full profiles.
- Your matches also see the messages and content you send in chat.
- Our safety team can access reports, verification submissions and related account information to review them.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your faith, community or tribe in a way that identifies you beyond what you show on your own profile.
Where your data is stored
Northearts runs on Google Firebase, so your profile, photos, messages and related records are stored and processed on Google Cloud, which may include servers outside India. Google processes this data on our behalf under its data processing terms and has no independent right to use it for its own purposes. When data leaves India, we take reasonable steps to keep it properly protected.
When we may disclose information
Beyond what is described above, we only disclose information:
- When the law, a court order or a competent authority requires it
- To investigate or act on breaches of our Community Guidelines or Terms, or to protect the safety and rights of Northearts, our members or the public
- If Northearts is merged, acquired or sold, in which case your information may transfer with it and the new owner is expected to honour this policy or one like it
We never share your information for anyone else's marketing.
How long we keep data
- Your account data is kept while your account is active.
- When you delete your account, a 14-day grace period starts. Log back in during that time and everything is restored. After that, your profile, photos, messages, matches and related data are permanently deleted.
- Reports about an account may be kept longer, even after deletion, for safety and legal records.
- Limited backups may exist for a short time after deletion, only for disaster recovery.
Deleting your account
Open Settings and tap Delete account at the bottom of the screen.
- You are signed out and a 14-day grace period begins.
- Log back in within 14 days and your account comes back exactly as it was.
- After 14 days, deletion is automatic and permanent: profile, photos, bio, prompts, messages, matches (including Blind Date chats), swipe history and block records are removed and cannot be recovered.
The only exceptions are the report records and short-lived backups described above. Deletion currently happens in the app only. If you have lost access to your account, email support@northearts.com and we will help.
Your rights and choices
- See and correct most of your information any time in Edit Profile.
- Control visibility of gender, intent, faith and dating preference with individual toggles.
- Location: decline permission during sign-up or change it later in Settings. Distance-based matching will be limited.
- Notifications: choose which ones you get in Settings.
- Blocking anyone removes your match and conversation with them.
- Deletion: see section 9.
Children
Northearts is only for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone younger, and we remove underage accounts as soon as we find them.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards, including access-controlled databases and security rules that limit who can read or write each piece of data. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Events
Events lets you create and find real-world gatherings such as festivals, sports, games and meetups.
- Creating an event: we store the single location you set for it (not your continuous GPS) and the details you enter: name, photo, date and time, category and description.
- Public events can be found by members whose own distance settings include the event's location, and they may get a notification if "Nearby events" is on. Private events are only visible through their invite link and never appear in browsing or notifications.
- Joining an event: we briefly use your live location to confirm you are near the venue. That check is one-time and the location is not stored or shown to anyone.
- Other attendees can see that you are "Going".
- Event details stay until you delete the event or your account. Deleting an event removes it immediately.
Blind Date
Blind Date is an anonymous chat. You are matched using the same compatibility signals as the rest of the app, such as shared interests, intent, community and faith. Neither of you sees the other's name or photos until you both choose to reveal, at any point or never.
Blind Date conversations are saved like any other match's messages, whether or not you reveal. If you use Rizz inside Blind Date, only the anonymous conversation is sent, never a name, photo or other identifying profile detail.
Changes to this policy
We will update this policy as our features, practices and the law change. Continuing to use Northearts after an update means you accept the revised policy.

Questions about your data? Use Safety Centre or Help & Support in the app, or email support@northearts.com.
Northearts is in an early testing phase with a small community. This policy describes our real, current practices and is written by the team building the app rather than outside counsel. As we grow, we plan to have it reviewed by a lawyer who knows the DPDP Act, and any change will show in the date at the top.
